Logo file formats explained

Not sure which logo file you need where? Here's what each format is for — and how to get all of them from a single upload.

The formats and what they're for

  • PNG — web, slides, and any layout where the logo sits on a colored background; transparent when your uploaded logo has a transparent background. Generated at 500px, 1000px, and 2000px.
  • SVG — a true, infinitely scalable vector when you upload a vector; a high-resolution raster wrapped in SVG for PNG/JPG uploads.
  • PDF — print-ready for documents and print shops; a true vector from a vector upload, otherwise a high-resolution raster embed.
  • JPG — a quick high-resolution preview for sharing.
  • Black and white (reversed) logo versions — for single-color printing, watermarks, and reversed layouts on dark or photographic backgrounds; knocked out on a transparent background when your upload has transparency, otherwise recolored in place.
  • Favicons & app icons (favicon.ico, PNG icons, Apple touch icon, 192px/512px web app icons) — browser tabs, bookmarks, home screens, and installable web apps.
  • Social media kit — correctly-sized profile avatars, headers/banners, a share image, and a story/reel graphic for the platforms you choose.
